Adonis Belt - 2025

Apollo’s Belt reflects the mind’s quiet drift, gathering passing thoughts that appear in daydreams and moments before sleep.  In these liminal thought spaces, the mind can be playful but also intimate and charged. These thoughts are coloured by longing, by surreal hopes and impossible desires, by flashes of eroticism and sudden revelations of beauty.  Placing motifs derived from these kind of abstract, meandering thoughts onto something as commonplace as a vase highlights the rapid and fragmented experience of being exposed to the heady mix of idealised realities that have come to dominate our social landscape.
